A mermaid (Christy Cheung)
loses her magic pearl to a young high school teacher whose life
she saved; in trying to get it back she is forced to assume human
form and look for the teacher. As a result she must learn how to
adapt to modern Hong Kong. She disguises herself as one of his pupils
and soon they fall in love.

up a young posh girl while going against a rival breakdancer. While
all this is happening he is also trying to set his sister up with
a sugar cane vendor (Yuen Woo Ping). Donnie also comes across a
bumbling but tough fighter (Dick Wei) who wants to challenge him.

Andy Lau plays a criminal
whose skill as a getaway driver saves him and his partners in the
wake of a robbery gone awry. The gang members have taken a female
hostage while making their escape, however, and they want her killed.
Lau, who is attracted to the innocent woman, flles with her and
soon realises that he must eliminate his former crime partners.

chased by a drug runners gang. He helps out a young TV reporter
who has recorded evidence of a murder. However, when the tape gets
mixed up with one of Jackie's cooking videos it is him, not the
woman who is their prime target.

In
the early days of Republican China, a landowner hires priest Lam
Ching Ying to disinter and move his father's corpse: but in the
process, the corpse turns into a vampire with a powerful thirst
for the living. The situation worsens when one of Lam's disciples
falls in love with a beautiful ghost, and the other is turned into
a creature of the night himself by a vampire bite.

Jet
Li, unbeknownst to his adoring family, is a secret agent for the
Chinese government, and is sent to Hong Kong to infiltrate a violent
gang. Anita Mui is the tough Hong Kong cop who has a run-in with
Li, and travels to the mainland to investigate his background. When
Li's wife dies of an illness, Mui takes her young son back to Hong
Kong in search of his father.
