Sammo and Meng play two of Hong Kong's unluckiest hustlers in search of a short cut to the easy life, much to the disapproval of Sammo's father. But the real problems begin when beautiful car thief Nina Li Chi gets them fired from their jobs and fall foul of a triad gang.


Chow, self-proclaimed 'God of Cookery', has strayed from the culinary path, spending more time profiting from his image than actually cooking. When he gets exposed by a rival chef Bull Tong, Chow loses everything, and is forced to beg for food in the Temple Street markets. Things start to turn around when Sister Turkey takes an interest in him.


Chow Yun Fat plays a clairvoyant gambler who never loses at cards, dice or mah jongg. After a head injury leaves him with the personality of a child, he is taken in by con man Andy Lau, who soon discovers and tries to exploit Chow's gambling skills, which have remained intact. As an innocent boy in a man's body, Chow gets to show off his full range of acting skills.


Set in a small town in Taiwan Bu (Shu Qi) finds a bottle with a note inside. It is from a man in search of true love and she flies to Hong Kong to pursue her romantic dream. However, the man she finds is gay. Staying in Hong Kong Bu meets CN Chan (Jackie) who is a local business owner and very rich.


Two snake sisters, Green (Maggie Cheung) and white (Joey Wong) change their shape and become human. White is the more experienced of the two and has no problem blending in with the humans and finding herself a lover. However, Green is young and reckless and much more inexperienced at shape changing and cannot feel human emotions.
